Biography

Native of Honduras, Me Anna Melisa Chiasson arrived to Canada at the age of 6 years old. During her childhood, she had the opportunity to travel regularly abroad, having notably lived in South Africa and the Middle East.

She attended the University of Ottawa where she completed two bachelor’s degrees, in Law and in International Development and Globalization. She was admitted to the Quebec Bar Association in December 2012, after completing her internship in the Gatineau region. Since then, she has practiced her professional activities in local law firms, managing her own files and often called upon to make representations before the Court of Quebec and the Superior Court in various areas of law.

In search of new challenges and inspired by the drive to be part of a dynamic firm, she joined the team of Décarie Harvey Lawyers & Notaries in June 2016. Passionate by litigation, she mainly works in civil litigation, Family law and Labor Law. As part of her functions, she is called upon not only to plead before different Courts but also to negotiate settlements, draft agreements, research and render legal opinions.

Me Chiasson is a compassionate and devoted person, as well as being detail oriented. As such, a full analysis and understanding of each one of her files is a constant priority, while always paying close attention to her clients’ needs.

Me Chiasson was nominated to the Comité d’accès à  la profession in August 2016 and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Chambre de commerce de Gatineau since May 2017.

She is perfectly trilingual and can offer legal services in French, English and Spanish.
