2016 – Civil Law Degree (LL.L.), University of Ottawa, cum laude
Me Jonathan Lord-Tarte completed his Law degree in 2016, at the University of Ottawa with the Dean’s Honors’ List and graduated with the honors cum laude.
Before his legal career, Me Lord-Tarte started working in 2011 as a paramedic in the Outaouais region. His composure allowed him to intervene with a variety of clients in crisis situations and to develop his skills in managing emergency circumstances. He received two recognition plates for saving three lives in his paramedic duties.
Wanting to transfer his exceptional crisis management skills to another field of passion while remaining in the service of people, he returned to school in 2013. Reconciling work as a paramedic and study, he participated in the Pro Bono program to work with an organization of the region. He was admitted to the Quebec Bar Association in February of 2018.
Me Lord-Tarte completed his professional internship of the Bar admission course as a part of the Décarie Lawyers team. During this time, he worked on major cases and made representations in front of various judicial bodies in Quebec. Following his internship, Me Lord-Tarte definitely joined the Décarie Lawyers litigator team as a lawyer since they share the same values such as empathy, perseverance and fighting spirit.
Mr. Lord-Tarte practices primarily as a lawyer in civil and commercial litigation, labour law and administrative law. He has made representations before several court bodies, such as the Court of Quebec, the Superior Court, the Court of Appeal and various administrative bodies such as the Housing Authority and has negotiated several advantageous settlement agreements for his clients.
